What freeware is recommended for abbreviation expansion for Windows XP? My student wants to be able to use a keyboard shortcut or macro for inputing his name and password on the login screen. Is there one freeware that works better for email addresses? I know where to find abbreviation expansion to use within Office Word. Just want to be able to use it throughout the system.

Nancy,

Sorry this is so late.  The SETC Forum is new and our e-mail notification system hasn't been working until this week so your question got overlooked.  Here is a great webpage with a list of several free abbreviation expansion programs.  I have not used any of these as we use Abbreviate! ($50) for Windows and TypeIt4Me ($35) for Macintosh.  Does anyone else have some experience with any free abbreviation expansion programs.  Please share your experiences and thoughts.
