Can anyone suggest some good beginning cause/effect software?  (our IT department is wanting to "trial" all newly acquired software to be assured it won't crash the network.  They are asking us to pick the top 5 programs, then they will test and THEN that will be the core that can be purchased)

Any suggestions of cause/effect programs that we might want to get that could be used with a range of beginning users?

thanks

Ideas for Cause and Effect Software:
Simtech  sold by Marblesoft. Has some different cause and effect and switch training programs

Press to Play – single switch story sequence-cause and effect

Cause and effect Cinema 90 film clips…

UKanDu Switch Too….story sequencing…so a little more than cause and effect.

Google any of these to find prices…I don’t have all the info in my head….but its right at your fingertips with a quick search.
Check out the list on this website and see if there is anything that grabs you.

I like the Choose and Tell Fairy Tale series from Inclusive TLC.  They are beyond cause and effect, but certainly could teach some cause and effect while maintaining a higher level of interest.  We do have this available on loan from our tech library.

Also check out JudyLynn software.  RJ Cooper is an old standby with lots of years invested and should be able to help you in identifying any potential glitches or crash issues.  Also after you've done your searches and wish to know about any system conflicts, the vendor of the software should be able to identify those issues.  The more recently the software has been developed the greater the likelihood that there are undiscovered vulnerabilities or potential conflicts with operating systems or other software.

Good luck

I also like Judy Lynn and RJ Cooper products. I personally wouldn't invest much money in cause-effect programs because: 1) there is a lot available for free on the internet, and 2) I would want to move the student past simple cause-effect as quickly as possible. Judy Lynn's 'Two Switches to Success' software is nice and has a spectrum from cause and effect moving toward two switch step scanning. Also, both Judy Lynn and RJ let you download trials for limited use. As students get bored with simple software relatively quickly, it's great to use the trials up and then move on to the next free trial.
