Is there a software program for doing higher level math (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, etc.) on the computer?  My student is capable of comprehending the concepts but cannot write the equations with pencil and paper.  He can use a computer keyboard and mouse.

There is a software program called MathType from Design Science.  It allows one to enter any mathematical equations using the standard keyboard or mouse.  I've also developed an IntelliKeys overlay for access to some of MathType's features.  Check out the Design Science website for more info.

If your district has the money a program that Yakima School District uses is Bridges to Algebra.  It is web based and tracks students along.  It also provides hints so students who don't get the concept can understand what they are doing.  Excellent program for students at the middle level.
